On-Site Programming

StageThroughout the show, look forward to some curated progamming you can enjoy live, on-site. Here's a preview of what you can look forward to:

  • Scott Travers on the Gold and Bullion outlook. Scott is set to share his wisdom in a free presentation with our guests about the outlook for gold and gold bullion over the next year.
  • "Ship of Gold" Coin Display. In another awesome program, we will feature a 700 square feet display of coins and fascinating recovered objects from the fabled "Ship of Gold," the 1857 wreck of the S.S. Central America.
  • Daily Ship of Gold talks by Bob Evans. Noted SSCA chief scientist and conservator, Bob will give daily talks about the Ship of Gold and the recovered fortune. If you have ever heard Bob speak, you know he is a fascinating speaker, full of wonderful stories and insights. This display and program has never been offered in the Midwest before, so it is a terrific once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for your members to expand their numismatic knowledge.
  • Numismatic Educational Journey. Our extremely popular, and unique event returns! No other major coin show offers this or anything similar. It's a great educational experience! But, equally important, youths will have the thrill of shopping an extraordinary inventory of over 200,000 coins, the likes of which they may have never seen before!
  • Plus many other attractions!

Definitions

  • Dealer Trading Room -- A separate room away from the main show bourse floor designed for aggressive high-volume dealer to dealer trading prior to the main show, without having to run around a large bourse floor dragging inventory. Those desiring to use a table for showing boxes may purchase one or more 6 ft. tables for $225 each (basically our cost).

Other than Dealer Trading Room table holders, attendance is limited to regular GACC show dealers, Equal Access and Early Access badge holders as buyers, according to scheduled entry times. Regular badge holders do not have access.

Many dealers have told us this is when they do the bulk of their business at the show, and it is well worth the cost to them.

Dealers from around the nation, who are unable to take a regular show table, can fly in on Wednesday morning, buy an Equal Access Pass, come to the Trading Room, do a ton of business, and still catch an afternoon or evening flight home -- a very low cost, but profitable single day!

  • Main Bourse Floor -- Hall F, first floor, right side of Rosemont lobby.

  • Show Dates -- September 24-27 for dealers; September 25-27 for public.

  • Dealer Set-Up -- Wednesday September 24 at 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Hall F. If you don't have a table in the Dealer Trading Room, this is the only set-up time you should remember!

  • Equal Access Pass (NOT an Early Bird Pass!) - Non-table dealers with an Equal access Pass and Equal Access collectors gain entrance to the Dealer Trading Room and the Main Floor Bourse room on the same schedule Wednesday through Saturday as table dealers, giving them immediate access to freshest inventory. This pass is most applicable to high volume wholesale dealers and ultraaggressive collectors. Equal Access Pass holders also have free use of the Security Room on Tuesday evening.

  • Early Access Pass (Formerly called Early-Bird Pass) -- Early Access Passes provide entry to the Dealer Trading Room at 10:15 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., plus a two-hour advance entry during Wednesday main-floor dealer set-up, and one-hour early entrance before the public on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Similar to what other shows call an Early-Bird Pass. An Early Access pass does not include free security room usage, but it can be purchased for a fee.

  • Dealers -- All times for dealers on the above schedule refer to badge holding GACCS Table dealers at the main show and assistants only, except as noted.

  • Entry - All locations/functions are on the main floor surrounding the front lobby, so pay attention to signage upon entry. For those offloading to
the back dock, directions will be mailed out separately.

Questions and Answers:

Q. If I buy an Early Access pass, can I leave my belongings in the security room overnight?

A. No, only Bourse Floor Table Dealers and Equal Access Pass holders may use the Security Room for free. All others must pay $100 ($50 on Saturday) per item for storage. This is due to the extremely high cost of insurance.

Q. If I don't have a table at the main show, can I buy a table in the Dealer Trading Room.

A. No. Dealer Trading Room table holders are limited to main show table dealers. You can enter and shop by purchasing an Equal Access Pass or enter on a delayed schedule with an Early Access Pass.

Q. If I pay a one-time $10 entry fee is my badge good for all three days? Will it get me into the Dealer Trading Room?

A. It will get you into the show all three public days, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but no, it will not get you into the Dealer Trading Room on Wednesday. You will have
to purchase an Equal Access Pass or an Early Access Pass to gain entry into the Dealer Trading Room.

Q. If I buy one of the passes for the Dealer Trading Room, do I still have to pay $10 to get into the regular show?

A. No. Your Equal Access or Early Access Pass is good all week, giving you access to the show floor each day ahead of the general public. Early Access passes function like a typical Early Bird pass (but we don't call them that), but better, while Equal Access passes give you access like a dealer badge. Both are like Early Bird passes on steroids.
No other major show ocers such an advantaged pass. Plus, you get the added bonus of access to the wholesale Dealer Trading Room with each pass. GACCS passes ocer more than any other major show passes. See the show schedule for each day's entry times for each type of pass.

Q. If I have a dealer badge for my main floor table, do I have to pay extra to get into the Dealer Trading Room on Wednesday?

A. No, you may enter the Dealer Trading Room to shop any time after 8:15 a.m. This is a big benefit for GACC Show table holders. Some others charge.

Q. Why don't you have the Dealer Trading function on the main bourse floor like other shows do?

A. We do what we think provides the greatest benefit to our dealers, based on over 70 years of combined first-hand experience . Our team is made up of dealer coin show
professionals who have first-hand knowledge of what works best and what doesn't. We don't rely on show administrators hired oc the street with no dealer experience or understanding of dealer needs. So, we use our judgement based on our own experience and we don't rely on what others do.

We believe the more intimate setting of a separate room, with dealers placed close together, is a much more conducive setting for active trading and high-volume
interaction and profitable trading.

Plus, the separate room provides extra time to set up the show floor on Wednesday morning to make sure everything is set up properly. Those who use the main floor have to schedule an extra day on the front end to allow the decorators sucicient time to arrange the floor, adding substantial expense, which translates into higher bourse
table fees.

Q. Why do you have two different passes for early entry?

A. Buyers who want early access have diverse needs and budgets. There are large professional wholesale buyers shopping to fill the needs of very large companies who
employ them. There are professional upgraders, willing to pay more for "first shot." These buyers often spend well into six figures and are willing to pay a lot more for the extra advantage of more time and equal entry. It is not fair, however, to charge a collector looking to spend a few hundred or a few thousand dollars, the traditional "early
bird" badge buyer, the same as the professional buyer spending six figures. Therefore, our Early Access badge is identical to what others call Early Bird.

Our Equal Access badge is unique to GACCS.

Q. Why don't you call your badges Early Bird, like everyone else does?

A. None of the members of our team like the term Early Bird, or the image it evokes of pulling a slimy worm out of the ground. We don't view that as the professional image we want to portray.

**Equal and Early access passes work for both the Dealer Trading Room and the main floor bourse show all week, although each has their own separate schedule of entry time.
